CLUB HISTORY
The cricket club originally existed as Rodexians CC, founded in 1947, as a ‘works’ team for the clothing factory in Bletchley, named Rodex.

When their home ground was sold in 1969 on the site of Bletchley Tesco and V7 Saxon Street, the club relocated to - and became - Rickley Park CC, continuing to play Saturday and Sunday cricket. A midweek side began to compete in 1987.

The 1993 season saw another name change to become Shenley Church End CC, and moved to play it's home fixtures in the grounds of Denbigh School. The club later joined the Four Counties Cricket League in 2001, starting in Division 5.

In 2002, SCECC decided on a change of home ground (but no club name alteration) relocating to Manor Fields in Bletchley, sharing the facilities provided by of Bletchley Town CC and since settling into surroundings on the lower pitch at the Manor.

MEMBERSHIP INFO - 2021 SEASON

WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN US?
We are currently on the lookout for good standard local players to play in our Saturday League side - batsmen, and bowlers - for the 2021 Season. This is in addition to players of all standards, including older youths and young adults who want to develop further by playing regular 'low to medium' standard cricket.

If you are interested in joining SCECC for the forthcoming season, then please contact a member of the Committee for more details, or messaging us via our SCECC Facebook page for a quick response!

In order to be a member of SCECC, all you need to do is pay a yearly subscription to the treasurer, as well as reasonable subs for each game (discounted for youngsters). Benefits include subsidised shirts/kits, access to nets and the chance to join in on many social occasions! Current yearly rates are as follows:

NEW MEMBER: £20 Entitles full membership, payable prior to the season
MEMBER: £40 Yearly subs for existing members
YOUTH (U-18): £20 A nominal subscription for all U-18's - covers league/friendly matches

YOUNGSTERS
Whilst we do not have the capacity to run youth sides, we're extremely keen to attract older youths to the club (secondary school age upwards), development during winter nets and initially in the Sunday side. Qualified and positive coaching is available to all, while full participation, progression and positivity in our matches is highly encouraged.

NETS
Shenley's pre-season activities start in February with good standard indoor nets at the Radcliffe School, which takes place on a Wednesday and Saturday until late April. This is always a great way of starting off at SCECC. There are also outdoor practices held throughout the summer, to sharpen your game away from the square! Again, don't hesitate to contact us if you wish to attend nets.

SOCIAL
Valuing the social side of cricket amongst ourselves and with the opposition, as a club we regularly organsie many events/outings throughout the yearly calendar (including an End Of Season Presentation dinner), and always like to invite and socialise with opposing teams after matches.
