18/04/2010 - VIEW FROM THE CHAIRMAN'S BALCONY

The new season is almost upon us and it seems inconceivable that all the sub zero temperatures and snow of a few months ago could give way to what we hope will be a sunny and fair weather cricketing summer.

Last season was a mixture of consolidation for the Saturday side in Division 2 of the FCCL, great promise from the Midweek team against very strong opposition and a realignment of our Sunday team into a more appropriate Sunday League division to reflect the current strength of the side.

We continue to punch above our weight as a club and put out completive sides each week in all 3 leagues that we enter. Recruitment for the 2010 season has proved fruitful with a number of new players joining the club, many through word of mouth as our reputation for being a competitive yet friendly club continues to grow. Welcome to you all.

Our desire to compete on the field will always be balanced with the equal determination for off field enjoyment which normally culminates with drinking beer. This activity will continue to flourish!

I hope everyone has a challenging yet successful year and look forward to sharing your company both on and off the field.
