01/12/2008 - SCECC JOIN MKDCA SUNDAY LEAGUE FOR 2009The 2009 Sunday season will be slightly different for Shenley Church End CC, as the club have decided - and put into action - their entry into the MKDCA Sunday League after many seasons of purely playing friendlies. With the wheels put into motion over the summer - the club committee deciding overwhelmingly to enter a league after hearing that there would be enough free weekends to fulfil some of SCECC's favoured friendlies and the possibility of the standard matching the club's current playing staff. At the SCECC AGM, it was unaminously decided by members to proceed with the application. The MKDCASL AGM took place on Wednesday 26th November, which the Club attended and were duly elected into the League. After a discussion, the league structure was altered for 2009. This now consists of 3 divisions with 6 teams in each playing home and away (last season was 2 division of differing numbers). This will give SCEEC around 10 league matches and 4 (possibly 5) cup matches as the cup is played on a mini league basis. The team structure is below:
