26/06/2007 - SHENLEY EXTEND SOCIAL DIARY DATES

The Club have more dates for members to pen into their SCECC diaries with the announcement of more social events by the committee. As the season progresses more dates will be added!

Friday 29th June - CAMOUFLAGE!
Andy Peacock's favourite band Camouflage are back in town, playing The Plough at Water Eaton this Friday 29th. The legendary Big Al fronts the band who rocked at this venue back in December. The start anticipated at 8:30pm - please contact Andy for more details.

Sunday 1st July - GEOFF DEVEREUX MEMORIAL GAME
The annual Geoff Devereux Memorial game has been arranged for Sunday 1st July against an MK Park XI, a 1pm start on the top pitch at Manor Fields.

A successful event in the past two years, replacing the traditional President's Game, we once again remember the late ex-Rickley Park player with a match against close neighbours Park. All ex-players are welcom - just contact one of the club.

This is always a good event to bring the WAGS and dependants down for a good family day out. Please give your availability to any of the SCECC team captains for this event - meet at 12:30pm.

Monday 2nd July - TWENTY20 AT CAMPBELL PARK
Don't forget the Twenty20 at Campbell Park on Monday 2nd July, where Northants take on Gloucestershire. This is live on Sky Sports, but SCECC will be out in force at the match to get Bumble to mention us.

It was also people to wish Jay Fletcher good luck for his wedding as a minor extension to his Stag Do taking place that week.

For those attending the match, we are looking to wear the new club polo shirts - as we did two years ago on that beautiful evening - for whoever owns them. Just a request, not a requirement, though it will make us look like we are on a proper club outing.

For those without anything to do on that Monday, some of us are meeting in Wetherspoons in Xscape at the ridiculously early time of 12:30pm in order to consume alcoholic beverages and generally get the afternoon started. Everyone is more than welcome to join us sometime that afternoon if that is too early. You'll find us bedded in somewhere!

We are then aiming to set up camp at Campbell Park from 4:45pm somewhere on the hill, to take in the action. After the match, it may be good to head out back up for more drinks up the city and possibly food - though I think playing it by ear is better.

Tickets are still available from the NCCC website (www.nccc.co.uk), and also from the Customer Service Information points up the city (so I'm told). Cost is £12. It looks like many of the club members do have tickets, so basically for the rest, get yourself down to Campbell Park and enjoy the evening!

Late 2007/Early 2008 - CLUB RUGBY DAYS
A note from social director Andy Peacock:
Might have to be 2 days out this year because, by popular demand, Saints have very kindly got themselves relegated to National League Division 1 so they can play Bedford once again.

Fenny Flyer to Bedford Station, variety of pubs through town, match, more pubs en route back to the station, singing on the train.

This match is on Saturday, 22nd. September k.o. 3.00. which unfortunately clashes with The Cobblers match at home to Huddersfield. I would like to select another game in the new year that does not clash and we can go to Franklinís Gardens for a match.
