Eaton Bray CC (155-2) BEAT
Shenley Church End CC (154-8) by 8 wickets

The Sunday season decimated by rain so far continued at Eaton Bray, where Shenley Church End were convincingly beaten by 8 wickets thanks to a great partnership between Bray's first XI pair James Fleckwell and Andy Norris.

Fresh from their League triumph over Milton Keynes CC - bowling them out for 8 the previous week - the pair hit 93 and 50 respectively to overcome a slightly off form Shenley attack in the blazing Sunday sunshine.

Winning the toss, Richard Fletcher opted to bat and will have been encouraged by performances from Andy Peacock (40, 5 fours) and appearing in his first game in 2007, Tom Scott (35, 4 fours) making the most of the dry Bray pitch.

Disappointingly, Shenley limped to 154-8 thanks to a late contirubtion from Chris Peacock (6 runs), Bray's Jones taking 3-31 from 7 overs and Harvey contributing with 2-14 from 5.

Jay Fletcher's bowling performance saw a very astute 1-7 from 6 overs and fellow opening bowler Stuart Hardwick took an early wicket. What they didn't bank on was Fleckwell's appearance, playing spin bowlers Graham Teagle and Chris Peacock extremely well but narrowly missing out on his century.
